The Boys

Specializing in the Bakersfield sound of the great, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Red Simpson, the Bottom Dwellers bring diversity to California's Americana scene by pushing boundaries, and poking all the parts of the country music genre with a musical stick. “Most of us miss the country music our parents and grandparents raised us on.” And indeed, a few hours with the Bottom Dwellers is very reminiscent of the long drives out to the old fishin' hole in grandpa's F100, with the piss bucket between your feet and Dave Dudley cracklin' in and out of the AM radio.

Adam Hancock in Mercury

Adam Hancock

Guitar/Vocals

Born and raised on California's peninsula, south of San Francisco, Adam Hancock fashioned his super country guitar chops from years of hard work and dedication. Actually, it was years of sitting in front of the TV, noodling around with the guitar.

Adam is a recent Yolo County transplant from South San Francisco, where his super country picking reputation was honed in the Country Kays and The Giblet Dribblers.

Chris Eynon in Mercury

Chris Eynon

Drums

With a diverse back ground in jazz, funk, and rock, Chris Eynon opens the Bottom Dwellers up to fill in some of the more avantguard niches in country music, like Willy Nelson's more experimental years.

Hailing from Sunnyvale, Chris is also a recent Bay Area transplant. His drum resumé is dotted with great examples of the Bay Area's finest acts, like Jobbers and Clubber Lang.

Ivan Sohrakoff in field

Ivan Sohrakoff

Vocals/Guitar

Singer/guitarist, Ivan Sohrakoff is credited with bringing everyone together. Ivan's obsession with 1920's gypsy jazz guitar and early swing fueled his drive to push into western swing and eventually modern alt country.

Fortuna raised and Yolo County educated, Woodland is a big city to Ivan. Humco is always a big part of his songs, be it lyrically, or the beer behind the courage to make them happen.

Mark Eagleton on tracks

Mark Eagleton

Bass (bull fiddle and slab)

His dad will never let him live down the fact that he is in a country band. Raising himself on a steady diet of hard core punk and indie rock, Mark Eagleton sites Hank III as a shining example of how true, classic country and hillbilly swing can come from the deepest, darkest reaches of punk rock.

A long stint in the Sacramento industrial rock band, Floss, kept Mark from the double bass for most of the 90's. Trading big sound for a bigger bass, he feels quite at home to the disbelief of those who knew him before the haircut.

Special Guest Performers

Dave Zirbel on stage with the Bottom Dwellers

Dave Zirbel

Pedal Steel

Dave has played and recorded with a long list of artists up and down the golden state, such as The Trailer Park Rangers, The Real Sippin' Whiskeys, Mother Truckers, and recently layed down some tracks for the red rocker himself, Sammy Hagar.

Dave can currently be seen on stage with Johnny Dilks & His Country Soul Brothers, and of course with the Bottom Dwellers in his spare time. Dave plays steel on the Bottom Dwellers album, “Twang Americana”.
